First Annual 5K Foot Pursuit A Success

The 1st Annual WCPOF 5K Foot Pursuit was a tremendous success due to the efforts of officers, family members and volunteers.

Winding through the city, approximately 120 runners participated in the fundraiser for the foundation.  Net income from the event raised  approximately $8,000 that was utilized to purchase equipment for officers of the department.

The overall winner of the 5K event was our own Judge Kenneth Ebener who posted a time of 19:49.  The top three female runners were:

1. Jessica Chiu                   22:42

2. Emily Brandenburg         23:20

3. Meredith Peters               23:31

The top three men were:

1. Kenneth Ebener             19:49

2. Spencer Griffin                20:01

3. Timothy Rollason            20:22

Appreciation goes out to the organizing committee headed up by PFC Joe Putney and his lovely wife, Nikki.  A special thanks to all those who volunteered in any capacity to make the initial race a success.

Plans are already underway for next year’s event which will be moved to May 2012 to tie in with National Police Week.
